An expatriate Southerner, born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, I have lived in Upstate New York for almost 20 years. A costumer by training, I gave up this occupation after a few years of Halloween, Mardi Gras, and dance recital season to follow my heart--reading and writing. (I became an English teacher.) Currently, I herd cats and wrestle alligators at the 9th and 12th grade levels, sowing the love of poetry as best as I can.
